Team Juicy reviews Breathya, a Drugless Respiratory Care Centre

I’ve always enjoyed visiting spas, especially their salt rooms. I treat salt therapy as a form of detox because dry salt air is more powerful than moist air. These small salt particles help to “heal” you, both physically and mentally. Moreover, it is 100% drugless. After every session at the spa, I would come out feeling relaxed and rejuvenated, my skin feeling plump and squeaky clean.

I never knew we had Halotherapy in Singapore so imagine my excitement when I received an email from Breathya, to do a trial session.

Salt therapy AKA Halotherapy can even help to soothe respiratory and skin conditions. There are just so many benefits to salt therapy that can treat myriad of common ailments, notably asthma and psoriasis.

You must wonder, how can salt be that amazing? Well, salt is considered anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory. So for those who have respiratory problems, salt helps to open up the lungs and sinus cavities and clears up the airways. How interesting!

Halotherapy, not only gives you health benefits but also provides a calm, therapeutic and relaxed experience where healing, spiritual and emotional benefits are felt. This “power” of breathing air in the salt room instigates higher energy levels and positive moods. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Breathya is located at Marine Parade Central, which is just walking distance from my place. I brought my mom along as well, as she has been suffering from asthma for the past 10 years.

Walking into their space on the 3rd floor, their premises looked very clean and professional. We were both given a quick tour of the place and a consultation to understand what our needs were.

I have very sensitive skin and thus prone to rashes especially when I get exposed to the thousands of germs and bacteria in the gym. So i’m hoping salt therapy can help effectively treat my skin condition and also relieve my mom’s chronic asthma that has been affecting her daily life since she contracted it years ago.

We were both given disposable head caps and feet gloves before we were escorted into 1 of their 3 salt rooms. These rooms are filled with dim lights to give a soothing and cosy feel, under controlled temperatures. Every inch of the room is covered in Himalayan salt crystals. There are comfortable chairs for the adults to unwind in and also a small play corner for kids.

I let myself get relaxed in the chair and almost immediately fell asleep. What a perfect way to cleanse our airways and experience the healing powers of the salts whilst it touches our skin. After a few minutes, I could actually feel a layer of salt on me, even my lips tasted salty!

I continued to enjoy my therapy and immersed in the very tranquil experience. Time went by really quickly and before I knew it, 60 minutes was up.

Overall, both my mom and I had enjoyed our first session at Breathya. It was pretty amazing because she felt like her airways opened up and she could breathe more easily. As for me, my skin felt softer, got more glowy and significantly reduced my muscle aches.

This is truly our little salt haven. We will definitely be back for more sessions, that’s for sure. 🙂

Breathya is MOH, HSA and URA approved as an alternate health therapy.
